EPIDEMIOLOGY OF BREAST CANCER: ANALYSIS OF FREQUENCY AND MORTALITY
Keywords:

Breast cancer represents a significant global health and social challenge, affecting millions of individuals worldwide. This paper highlights the critical role of identifying risk factors for the disease's development and the importance of early diagnosis as key determinants in improving treatment outcomes. The study aims to analyze the global incidence and mortality of breast cancer, utilizing estimated rates from the Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN 2022) and national cancer incidence and mortality reports. Findings indicate that while breast cancer incidence is higher in developed countries, relative mortality is disproportionately greater in less developed regions. This disparity stems from a combination of prevalent risk factors, the limited application of successful preventive strategies, and the lack of early tumor detection programs commonly employed in more developed nations. Advancements in innovative methods and technologies have enhanced early detection and treatment outcomes. However, there remains significant potential for the development of more specific and sensitive approaches that can further improve outcomes while minimizing side effects.
