Nursing quality is a fundamental determinant of patient outcomes and the overall effectiveness of healthcare systems worldwide. However, despite its importance, there is a notable gap in research regarding nursing service quality in university clinical centers, particularly in Kosovo.
This study seeks to investigate the perceptions and experiences of nurses working in Kosovo’s university clinical centers to identify key factors influencing the quality of care delivered. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining a systematic review of existing literature with an online survey administered to 113 nurses working in these centers. The survey explores various dimensions of nursing quality, including staffing adequacy, availability of resources, leadership support, job satisfaction, and work environment. The results highlight that insufficient staffing and inadequate leadership support are significant barriers to providing high-quality nursing care. Additionally, nurses report challenges related to resource constraints and work overload, which negatively impact their ability to deliver optimal care. The findings emphasize the importance of addressing these issues through evidence-based strategies that focus on improving staffing levels, enhancing leadership communication, and optimizing work environments. By implementing these strategies, Kosovo’s healthcare system can significantly improve nursing care quality, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and a more efficient healthcare delivery system.
